Transfer a Referral to a Different LEA/Provider
In the case where a student is in an AEDY placement, moves out of district, and the new LEA determines the student should remain in placement, the student's referral will need to be transferred to the new LEA.
In the case where a student is in an AEDY placement, moves out of district to an LEA that uses a different AEDY provider, and the new LEA determines the student should remain in placement, the student's referral will need to be transferred to the new AEDY program.
Only Sending LEAs have access to this feature. Each transfer will be reviewed by PDE and must be approved before the referral will be transferred.
Follow the steps below to request a transfer:
(Step 1) Open the student's referral and navigate to their Demographics page (by default, this is the first screen you will see when opening the referral).
(Step 2) At the top of the page, just above the information box, click "Transfer this referral to a different LEA/Provider."
(Step 3) Complete the transfer request:
First, list your name, phone number, and email in case you need to be contacted to discuss the transfer (letter A in the image below).
Next, click the "Transfer This Referral to a New LEA" button OR the "Transfer This Referral to a New Provider" button, as appropriate. Use the text box to identify the new LEA or new Provider by name (letter B in the image below).
Use the large text box to explain the reason for the transfer request (letter C in the image above). Be specific in your explanation!
Finally, click the "Submit Transfer Request" button at the bottom of the screen (letter D in the image above).
Once the request is approved by PDE, the transfer will be processed and will appear in the system the next business day.
