May 3, 2023

(IMS Integration) As PDE rolls into the Integrated Monitoring System (IMS), all Leader Services actions will require you to be a user in the IMS system. See the announcement below this one for help logging in or click here for more information.

(Sending LEA and In-House Applications) The ability to submit your application for the 2023-2025 cycle is now available! A reminder that applications EXIPRE June 30, 2023 and must be renewed, submitted, and approved before sending LEAs may refer students and before in-house programs may operate.

(End of Year Reporting) End of Year Reporting will open mid-May 2023 for all Sending LEAs (including In-House programs) and must be completed by June 30, 2023. This report is required for ALL LEAs, including those who did not send students to an AEDY program during the past school year. Information and step-by-step instructions are avilable here.

(Stakeholder Feedback) We are requesting all LEAs and Programs complete the form via this link. Your feedback to inform our training and technical assistance offerings for the 2023-2024 school year. We design our plans based on your feedback. Our team is always striving to improve and support the needs of our field.

April 2023: PDE Integrated Monitoring System (IMS)

As PDE rolls into the Integrated Monitoring System (IMS), all Leader Services actions will require you to be a user in the IMS system. If you have a current login/password after the first login you will be prompted to change your password to meet the required security settings.

Details on how to receive your IMS login information are provided in the video below (followed by written instructions).

Instructions:

Your next steps are to go to SINGLE SIGN ON HOME (pdeims.com) and complete the password reset process as follows:

Click on the forgot username/password link under the Login button. Do not attempt to login.
Then type your email: Principal@abcschool.org
An email from PDEIMS@leaderservices.com with a link to reset your password will be sent to you
Click on the link to reset your password. Please be sure to use the username provided in the password reset email when updating your credentials. Remember your username and new password.
Login to SINGLE SIGN ON HOME (pdeims.com) with your username and new password

APPLICATIONS - Coming next week!

(Sending LEA and In-House Applications) This application cycle will be for July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2025. Applications will be available next week. Information on this process can be found here on our website.

Reminder: Confirmation of a sending LEA by an AEDY program does NOT mean an application is approved. The approval of an AEDY application comes only from PDE.

(Popup Practices) Have you been following our weekly Popup Practices series? This series is embedded on the website as part of the Communities of Practice page (updated weekly) and can also be found all together on this YouTube playlist!

Reminder:

❗Contact information a reminder to check the contact information included in your AEDY Application. This is critical for LEAs where the point of contact for AEDY has/will changed. Send outs go to all email addresses listed in the application, including those listed in the Additional Contacts section. The contacts can be updated at any time. See the Contact Information page of the Sending LEA applications module on our website for instructions on changing the information. Please do not resubmit the application after adjusting!

Coming up:

(Building Restorative Justice Systems in Schools) David Yusem is back this Thursday, January 5th at 10am with the follow-up session to his popular webinar from October (if you missed it, check it out here on our website!). Click here for more information and to register for this January session!

(Community of Practice) Spring sessions for the AEDY Community of Practice are now available for registration. Based on feedback from attendees, we will hold one session each month at 2:30pm. Dates are January 18th, February 15th, March 15th, and April 19th. Click here for more information found on our website or click here to register for each session (use the dropdown at the top to select each date).

(PBIS Implementation: A Framework for Organizing Systems, Data, and Practices in Alt Settings) This final training session of the school year will be held on Thursday, February 9th at 10am from Dr. Brenda Scheuermann. (Feedback Survey) Please take 10 minutes to complete the ANONYMOUS feedback survey found here. Please share with all of your staff. All input matters and will help determine new content!

(Update the MTSS Action Plan) Thank you for updating your AEDY program action plan and uploading it to Leader Services. If you have not done so for the 22-23 School year, please upload it prior to 11/30/22.

(Paper Referral Forms) Our team has received several inquiries about paper AEDY referral forms. Please note that the Leader Services system has replaced these forms entirely and they should no longer be used. If you need Leader Services accounts for administrators who have been using the paper forms, please email johesposit@pa.gov. Training on how to use the digital system can be found here on our website.

New Content:

(Creating an EL-ILLP) A new video on how Creating English Learner - Individualized Language Learner Plans has just been released! Check out the video with its resources here on the EL-ILLP page. The latest video is at the bottom as it’s part 4 in this series.

(Community of Practice) Our first Community of Practice was September 21st. The information shared in both sessions was insightful and the shared experiences set the foundation for the future monthly meetings. We welcome all staff to collaborate! We offer two sessions at 10am and 3pm - there is no need to attend both sessions.

Welcome to the new AEDY Website! 🎉

In an effort to make AEDY content more easily accessible, we have elected to remove the Schoology account requirement by instead opting for a public website. All content previously included in our AEDY Schoology is now available here on the website. Some key features that make this website easier to use:

A search bar is available on the top right of your screen at any time
A navigation bar is always available along the left side of the screen, even as you scroll! No more going back to the home page to dig through folders.
An AEDY Google Calendar is now available on the home page! You can subscribe to the calendar in Google Calendars by clicking on the plus button in the lower right corner of the calendar.
Files are still available - they are now embedded as links inside buttons on each page. This also makes the flow of modules smoother.
Modules are still modules but can be accessed in any order. At the bottom of each module page are navigation buttons "Next" and "Previous" to help you work through the module in order. From the home page of the module, you can access the full list of pages included. For an example, check out the reformatted A Comprehensive Look at the Formal Periodic Review.
Quizzes still exist but do not need to be completed in order to "finish" the module. The quizzes are now completely anonymous and still automatically graded using Google Forms.

Feeling a little lost? The AEDY Schoology will continue to exist through the end of the 2022-2023 school year. However, it will not be updated.
